Workflow

Animation actually is a part of a huge workflow which require not only expertise in each of these fields but creativity as well as quality of animation is of utmost priority.

1. Story Framing : Defining a compelling story for a film or ad is the most crucial step to begin with. A written script is the starting point for story framing. Mostly our clients approach us with their own ideas but if needed we can also frame a story for them.

2. Storyboarding : Storyboard is a visual representation of the written story in the form of rough sketches in sequence specifying all the scenes, shots and cuts and even minute details like camera angles, lighting etc. In short films or ads, storyboarding is not necessary but in long length films or production films, storyboarding cannot be ignored. It helps to give more clarity and focus on how to actually animate the film without any unwanted deviation from the story and content.

3. 3D Modelling : Modeling artifacts in 3D is a very special and distinctive skill which has a significant impact on the resultant film. Proper 3D modeling is necessary especially if it is to be rigged later. 3D models include characters, architecture, objects and scenes. 3D models are made of properly framed polygons( basic face ) which can be few hundreds to many millions in numbers. We deal in both low poly and high poly models in various extensions. We also craft game ready custom 3D models for game developers.

4. Character Rigging : Rigging is the process of attaching movable bones to a 3D character model so that it can then be manipulated and animated in the scene. Rigging is very important step which gives life to a lifeless model. It can be quite complicated as proper and valid movement of the joints are essential hence requires a great understanding of joints and weight painting. We also make fully-rigged game ready 3D models for movies and game developers.

5. 3D Animation : This is the process where all the animation is done mainly by a combination of these two methods :

        1) Manual Animation: Character, vehicles or objects movements are done manually by professional animators by hand which can't be simply simulated by computers.

        2) Simulated Animation : Things like realistic physics, fluid(particle) animation which includes    water, fire and smoke cannot be animated manually as its very tedious and extremely complicated. Computers are good at solving these complex math to simulate realistic animation but requires a lot of computing power and so long processing times. The animators have to take care of all the simulation settings and conditions which requires solid technical experience.

6. Post Production : Post production consists of final editing and various post processing effects like ambient occlusion, anti-aliasing, depth of field, motion blur, colour correction, fog etc. All the footage from various scenes are cut and enhanced according to the need.
